THE SPRING HAS SPRUNG . . .
Easter already, but at last spring seems to have arrived. The sunshine today actually warm! a trip to nearbye Woodbridge armed with camera and found these signs that nature has survived our recent winter. The boating fraternity were out too preparing their craft for the coming season. The English fighting spirit, not the sunshine had brought out a crop of WW2 posters in response to the recent economic downturn!

WINTER WONDERLAND

Well, no white Christmas this year (again) but the low temperatures and the last few days of persistent fog have left a winter wonderland on all the local foliage.

' TIS THE SEASON . . . '
That time of the year is upon us again. After yet another English summer! and nothing to share since May, how about a bit of colour to cheer things up? All courtesy of a local garden centre that really exels itself every Christmas with lights, decorations and bears!

CONTRA-JOUR
It's the merry month of May already so time to put up something on the blog. Never having been taught French during my schooldays, but early in my photographic career came across the term 'contra-jour' (Fr) a posh way of saying 'against the light' Certainly when photographing flowers a great way to bring out their beauty, spied these in a local garden. It can work for other subjects too. Spotted the beads at a 'continetal market' held in the town recently. I suppose there could be a bit of a link there somewhere?

ROOM WITH A VIEW
February already so time for a new 'picture on the page' I write this after returning from a second trip in two days spent taking relatives to fly off to sunnier climes! Stayed both nights at a friendly national lodging provider and had a room with this splendid view. Here we see Virgin Atlantic's early morning arrival from Florida.

OH CHRISTMAS TREE . . . . .
Time for some seasonal decorations to the page . . . so a trawl throught files on the PC and I found these. Our American cousins don't do anything in half measures, as these pictures taken during a visit a few years ago demonstrate. First, the tree in the atrium of the Grand Floridian Hotel in Walt Disney World. Apparently there is a rule of thumb for succesfully lighting a tree, 100 lights per foot! Next, Italy (well also WDW really) and finally to brighten the weary air travellers day at Orlando International airport.
To all my readers (if your out there somewhere) the compliments of the The Season!

WATERCOLOURS

Water colours? well the 'experts' tell us that the very large amounts of rain earlier in the year have resulted in the brilliant colours we are enjoying on the autumn foliage. So here is just a small selection to brighten up the page before we enter 'the dark months' of a British winter.
